Wendy Fry, Professional Landscape Architect, founded the firm, WC Fry Design, to provide targeted land planning, landscape architecture and design services for clients in the cemetery and commercial and site planning and design fields. Drawing on her planning and design experience, in excess of thirty years, working with and gaining awards for an impressive list of Fortune 500 companies, America’s Best Health Care Companies, small communities in Michigan’s “Thumb,” college campuses and cemeteries across the country, Wendy and her firm are excited to bring their experience to you!

Among the first projects that Wendy worked on when embarking on her Landscape Architecture career were the Domino’s Pizza Headquarters (even dressing up as the Noid for Halloween that year) in Ann Arbor, MI and State of Michigan prisons. Other early projects include design for the Ford Research and Engineering Center in Dearborn, MI and the Ford Motor Company Training Center.  Wendy went on to design the site for the Seasons Retreat Center for the Fetzer Institute in Kalamazoo, MI and the Ford Rouge Center – an icon of Sustainable Manufacturing and the Ford Rouge Factory Tour (one of the museums of The Henry Ford), both in Dearborn, MI, and recipients of various levels of LEED certifications.

Another legacy project that Wendy led was the sustainable systems design for the Fairlane Green Retail Center on a closed landfill and brownfield in Allen Park, MI. Fairlane Green received numerous gold and silver LEED certifications and multiple Phoenix awards from the US EPA in 2007, including the national award and the Peoples Choice award!  The Ann Arbor area Toyota Technical Center, also on a brownfield site, received LEED silver and platinum ratings.

More recently, Wendy led the site design and engineering work for the ProMedica Generations of Care Patient Tower in Toledo, OH and the new rural ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital in Lenawee County Michigan.

But, when the opportunity arose to create a firm that specialized in cemetery planning and design, Wendy made the switch! The first cemetery project in her career was a master plan for Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville, NC. She was hooked. Ever since, cemeteries have been an important part of Wendy’s career as a landscape architect and site designer. Now the firm dedicates a majority of their time to cemetery planning and design.

When not planning and designing cemeteries, the firm continues to work with their clients in the fields of high end residential design and site planning and design.
